Submission Guidelines

AOCD Dermatology Ground Rounds accepts case presentations by any osteopathic dermatology resident or D.O. dermatologist.  

To submit a case, please send an e-mail to ricklynn2@yahoo.com with the following information: your name, academic affiliations, and your level of training (first year resident, second year resident, third year resident, or board certified dermatologist)

Please submit no more than 4 digital images and no more than 4 dermatohistopathology images.  The digital images should be in jpg format.  Please attach the image files with the submission form when submitting the case by e-mail.

The case presentation will be published "as is".  Please make sure the text is free of grammatical or spelling errors.  The case needs to be submitted to the editor 2 weeks prior to publish date.  For the case to be published at the first of each month, the case presentation will need to be submitted by the 15th of the month prior to publication.  

Please include the case in the following format: 

1. Age, sex, and race of the patient.  
2. History - Chief complaint, onset, signs and symptoms, previous treatments, etc.
3. Current Medications
4. Physical exam - Description of the primary, secondary or tertiary lesions.
5. Laboratory Tests - If any.
6. Dermatohistopathology - A microscopic description and/or digital images if a biopsy was done.
7. Differential Diagnosis - please include 4 differentials.
8. Discussion - A brief discussion of the diagnosis
9. Treatment - Discuss actual treatments and results.  Also include a discussion on other treatment options.
10. References - Please include no more than 5 references

Please include up to 4 clinical digital images and 4 dermatohistopathology images you would like posted.
